| Description | I was trying to generate h.264 extended profile stream supporting adaptive macroblock frame field coding but was unable to generate the stream. The encoder gives an error that Interlace tools are not supported in extended profile<88> Can you let me know why i am getting this message. | ||||

The profile and level restrictions of the H.264/AVC standard (see Annex A) don't allow usage of interlace tool in extended profile. |

But mbaff is supported by extended profile. refer to this site : http://www.elecard.com/technology/avc.shtml |

I'm sorry my memory was wrong. You are right, aff should be allowed in Extended. I will remove the restriction in the next release. You can remove it by deleting the lines 202-206 in conformance.c (JM 14.0) |
