Summary | 0000303: Interlace coding is broken when HM-like parameters are turned on
Description | The encoder will crash when both the HM-like new parameters and interlace tool are on. PicInterlace = 1 BLevel0MoreRef = 1 BIdenticalList = 1 CRA = 1 HM50RefStructure = 1 LDRefSetting = 0
Steps To Reproduce | using the encoder_randomaccess.cfg used for HEVC scalable anchor generation, keep all parameters unchanged except the following two: PicInterlace = 1 LevelIDC = 41 (since level 51 does not support interlace) and the encoding will crash after the first GOP is finished. (after 0 8 4 2 1 3 6 5 7)
Additional Information | attached is the original encoder_randomaccess.cfg from HEVC scalable anchor ftp.

For the moment I will disable the usage of all HM-like options together with pic interlace. The purpose for them is to compare to a progressive coding scheme, thus the combination does not make much sense. If somebody wants to make these options work in a useful was, feel free to provide a patch. |
