| Description | Coding RGB (4:4:4) file using lossless mode. Enable lossless coding, and set quantization = 0. The generated compressed file size is much smaller than expected (much smaller than JPEG2000 file size). And the encoder reports lossless compression achieved for three components. And the generated reconstructed file in encoder is lossless. However, using decoder to reconstruct the compressed file, only the first component R is losslessly reconstructed. the second and third component have been lost. Potential bugs with the lossless coding mode in both encoder and decoder may exist. | ||||

Please note that the High 4:4:4 profile has been removed from H.264/AVC. The new Professional Profiles (which include 4:4:4 Predictive as a replacement) are currently being implemented. I think the 4:4:4 independent coding mode might have broken the old 4:4:4 mode. This issue is rather a "won't fix" because the code is going to be replaced anyway in the next release. |
